Solar Beaver Tail Light-Hybrid

A CLASSIC ROOF TILE WITH A MODERN CORE

YouTube-Icon

Our development team is already working on another design variant of our Solar Roof Tile. With the Solar Beaver Tail, even historical plain tile roof coverings of listed buildings can be equipped with the most modern solar technology in the future. In addition to the Mediterranean version in terracotta, there will also be a version in classic black. The Solar Beaver Tail can also be additionally connected to a battery storage and a heat pump to provide even more efficient electricity and heat for your house.

Light-hybrid system

The integrated rear ventilation allows the built-in solar cell to be cooled efficiently. This significantly increases the service life of the entire system.

In contrast to a mild-hybrid system, the overall height of the product is lower. The thermal efficiency is slightly reduced, but the advantage of dual use (electricity and heat) remains.

Product advantages

  • High long-term performance for at least 50 years
  • Integrated protection against storm suction and hail
  • High quality and durability due to glass-glass construction
  • Easy installation and various roofing types possible (classic double or crown roofing)
  • Use of sustainable materials and good recyclability

Solar plain tile Light-hybrid

ELEGANT ENERGY GENERATION IN SHINGLE OPTICS

The Solar Plain Tile offers the look of the asphalt roof shingles mainly used in the USA, but in combination with the benefits of PV and solar thermal energy. Different color variants of the Solar Plain Tile offer a large number of possibilities to inconspicuously integrate the tiles into the roof surface.

The PV module is a so-called glass-glass module with an additional butyl edge sealing, so that it has an extremely high resistance to external loads such as storms or hail and no moisture can get to the cells. The design is rounded off by an aluminum frame, which offers excellent protection even against salt water and protects the corners and edges of the glass package

Product advantages

The lateral attachment of a water drainage channel ensures minimal overlaps. Slots in the front cover provide rear ventilation of the plain tile and thus the use of thermal energy. In addition, infiltrated water can run off due to the wind pressure.

The mounting of the Solar Plain Tile is done by a spring steel on the aluminum frame, which also acts as a conductor of the potential equalization. This allows quick installation as well as removal of individual tiles.

  • Plain tile optics with PV and solar thermal energy
  • Complete / partial covering of roof surfaces
  • Installation / removal via a spring steel plate, at the same time conductor for potential equalization
  • Aluminum frame protects the glass package, soft optical transition
  • High hail and storm suction resistance

Solar Roof Tile Mild-Hybrid

A SOLAR-HYBRID-MODULE WITH OUTSTANDING AESTHETICS

SALE TO MEYER BURGER

We are very proud to announce that Meyer Burger has acquired the rights to our Solar Roof Tile Mild-Hybrid and will now handle the industrialization and distribution. Meyer Burger is already working at full speed to set up series production and plans to start this and sales at the beginning of 2023. New information regarding the price and distribution channels will also be communicated by this time at the latest. Direct ordering via Meyer Burger or us is not planned for the time being.

For further questions and information, please contact the Meyer Burger sales team directly: tiles-germany@meyerburger.com

The Solar Roof Tiles developed by us retain the aesthetics of a conventional roof. The incoming sunlight is converted directly into electricity. In combination with a battery storage system, self-produced electricity can be used even at times when the sun is not shining. If the Solar Roof Tiles are additionally combined  with a heat pump, heat can be provided for the house even more efficiently.

Glass package // housing

Besides the glass module, the separate housing is another systemic advantage. The flexible connection ensures freedom during installation and exchangeability of individual modules. Furthermore, the rear ventilation is integrated directly into the housing. Stable and durable materials ensure the protection of the house. Securing the SDP-MH against storm suction is also realized via the housing.

Due to the powder coating of the housing and colored solar cells, variants in other colors (e.g. terracotta, green, blue) can be realized in addition to the classic solar roof tile in black.

Special advantages compared to standard PV systems

The inconspicuous integration of a high-performance solar module into the roof structure is a key argument for using the Solar Roof Tile Mild-Hybrid from paXos. In addition to the functional design, there are further advantages due to the entire roof system. These include the preservation of the aesthetics. In addition, there is no need for double roofing compared to elevated modules.

  • Easy covering of the roof surface
  • High resistance to hail
  • Vertical load capacity up to 150 kg
  • Increased impact resistance to shock loads
  • Fire resistant according to VKF

Extras

By using the Wave Profile in combination with the Solar Roof Tile Mild-Hybrid, a classic, curved roof tile design can be created. The wave profile is inserted between the individual solar roof tiles and is also walkable, hail-proof as well as extcremely protected against corrosion.

Our newly developed, flat Junction Box has its own bypass diode, which becomes active in the partial shading area. In addition, it includes a safety shutdown at module level, which in case of an emergency shuts the entire solar energy system off.

Solar facade element

Integration of PV in Building facades

In the production of prefabricated houses and halls, entire external facades can be clad simply and quickly with the Solar Facade Element as a building-integrated PV element (BiPV). The resulting surface generates electricity and thermal energy.

The universal mounting can be easily adapted in design to the PV panels used. Furthermore, individual facade elements as well as PV panels can be removed from the composite for maintenance. Another product advantage is the rear ventilation of the Solar Facade Element, which increases the efficiency of the entire system.

Cooling and insulation

The Solar Facade Element is developed in three variants. In the basic variant, the mounting and the PV panel are provided. Due to the structure, the rear ventilation is already integrated.

The next higher equipment level includes built-in insulation through insulating material and a thermal insulation panel. The highest equipment level also includes formed cable ducts and interior cladding.

Easy (dis)assembly and maintenance possibility

  1. Fixation by screws in the upper area
  2. PV panel is pushed upwards
  3. Fixation of spacers and connection of two elements by screws in the lower area
  4. PV panel can be pushed back to the final position

In case of maintenance there are further advantages:

  1. Loosening of the front panel for easy maintenance of the PV panel
  2. PV panel can be moved to allow access to the upper screws of the lower facade element
