Solar Water Element

USING WATER SURFACES TO GENERATE ENERGY

With the new Solar Water Element, energy can be generated sustainably on water surfaces. Systems placed on water surfaces provide about 15% more energy compared to panels mounted on land. Water surfaces are mostly unshaded and allow cooling of the solar modules.

The universal mounting can be easily adapted in design to the PV panels used. The system floats on the water surface but is anchored to the ground. Steel cables ensure that the Solar Water Elements are tracked by azimuth and elevation.

Rotation in elevation direction

The system follows the position of the sun by pulling the fixed steel cables in the same direction via a motor. As a result, the module tilts. The required motor power is low because the entire system floats.

Rotation around azimuth

The system always positions itself perpendicular to the sun by pulling the fixed steel cables in the opposite direction via a motor. As a result, the module rotates. With this 2-axis tracking, higher outputs can be achieved, since the sun always hits the solar cells perpendicularly.
